Hull KR Foundation and Healthy Lifestyles Team Expand Partnership to Support Local Families

Hull KR Foundation is proud to announce the launch of two new family-focused health and wellbeing programmes in partnership with Hull City Council's Healthy Lifestyles Team, building on the success of the popular Mini Robins programme.
The strengthened partnership will see the organisations work together to support more local families to make healthier lifestyle choices through engaging, accessible and family-centred activities.
Robins Healthy Families
The first initiative, Robins Healthy Families, has been designed to complement the Healthy Lifestyles Team's HENRY (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for the Really Young) programme.
From 12 November, weekly sessions will take place at Sewell Group Craven Park every Thursday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. The programme will provide families who have primary school aged children, with the opportunity to access up to eight healthy lifestyles themed support and advice in a familiar and inspiring setting. Parents can register their interest by contacting the Healthy Lifestyles Team via healthylifestylesteam@hullcc.gov.uk
By delivering the programme at the home of Hull KR, partners hope that the venue and the power of the club's brand will help break down barriers to engagement, encourage greater participation and support more families to access health and wellbeing services.
While parents take part in sessions delivered by the Healthy Lifestyles Team which will explore food choices, managing our wellbeing, family lifestyle habits and much more, children will be able to participate in fun, supervised physical activity sessions on the Foundation's 3G pitch, delivered by a member of the Hull KR Foundation team.
Healthy Families After-School Club
Alongside the Robins Healthy Families programme, Hull KR Foundation and the Healthy Lifestyles Team will also deliver a new Healthy Families After-School Club, running between January and March 2027.
The six-week programme will bring children and parents together to learn about healthy lifestyles in a fun and practical way. Each session will combine health and wellbeing information, food-related activities and physical exercise, helping families develop healthier habits together while strengthening family relationships.
Through interactive and engaging sessions, families will gain the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to make positive lifestyle changes that can have a lasting impact on their health and wellbeing.
Building Healthier Futures Together
The new programmes reflect a shared commitment from Hull KR Foundation and the Healthy Lifestyles Team to support families across the city, creating opportunities for children and parents to learn, grow and lead healthier lives together.
Iain Lane, Head of Programmes and Impact at Hull KR Foundation, said:
"Our partnership with the Healthy Lifestyles Team has already delivered great results through the Mini Robins programme, so we're excited to build on that success with these new initiatives.
By combining the expertise of the Healthy Lifestyles Team with the reach of Hull KR, we can create engaging opportunities for families to learn, be active and make positive changes together. We hope these programmes will help more families access support and develop healthy habits that last long beyond the sessions themselves."
