Hull KR Foundation is delighted to announce it has been awarded a strategic partnership with Hull City Council to deliver the Healthy Holidays programme from 2026 through to 2029.
This partnership will see the Foundation build on previous years of Healthy Holidays delivery and continue to deliver provision during the Easter, Summer and Winter school holidays, giving those aged 5 - 16 years of age across Hull access to free, fun and engaging activities in a safe and welcoming environment.
The Healthy Holidays programme supports children who are eligible for free school meals, offering a mix of sport, enrichment activities, healthy food and opportunities to socialise, learn new skills and stay active throughout the school holidays. Over the next three years, Hull KR Foundation will build on the success of its existing Healthy Holidays delivery, working closely with Hull City Council to provide high quality sessions that make a real difference to children and families across the city. Whether it's taking part in sport, trying something new or simply spending time with friends, the programme is designed to give young people positive experiences outside of the classroom, while helping to reduce holiday hunger by providing a healthy meal at every session.
Ben Parker, Rugby League and Sports Participation Manager at Hull KR Foundation said of the partnership:
"We are extremely pleased to have secured this partnership with Hull City Council and to continue delivering the Healthy Holidays programme over the next three years.
We continue to see first hand the difference these sessions make to children and their families. They provide young people with somewhere safe to go during the holidays, keep them active, help them build confidence and, just as importantly, allow them to have fun.
As a Foundation, we strive to make opportunities like this available to as many young people as possible, and we're looking forward to continuing to work with Hull City Council to grow the programme and support communities across the city.
We are looking forward to starting this partnership off with 7 weeks of activities throughout the summer holidays, we will have sessions taking place Tuesday - Friday with the first session on Tuesday 21st July and the last session of the holidays taking place on Friday 4th September."
More information on upcoming Healthy Holidays sessions, including venues and booking details, will be shared ahead of each holiday period, with activities now able to be booked for the summer holidays, more activities will be added to our booking page as the weeks progress.
