The Hull KR Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Hull KR Foundation Rugby League Festival: The World Club Challenge Edition, a brand-new celebration of community rugby league set to take place at the University of Hull.

Running from 10:00am to 4:00pm, the festival will kick off an exciting week of rugby league activity ahead of the World Club Challenge, and marks the first edition of what the Foundation hopes will become an annual flagship event in the Foundations calendar.

Community rugby league clubs from across Hull have been invited to enter teams in the Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 age groups, with each age group enjoying its own dedicated festival. These junior festivals will be played on grass pitches at the University of Hull and will run from 1:45pm to 4:00pm, providing young players with a memorable matchday experience in a festival atmosphere.

In addition to the junior competitions, the day will also showcase the inclusive side of rugby league, with LDRL (Learning Disability Rugby League), PDRL (Physical Disability Rugby League) and Wheelchair Rugby Leaguefestivals all taking place:

  • LDRL Festival: 10:30am – 12:30pm (3G pitches)

  • PDRL Festival: 1:00pm – 3:00pm (3G pitches)

  • Wheelchair Rugby League Festival: 10:00am – 2:00pm (Allam Sports Centre)

Adding to the excitement, Hull KR first team players will be in attendance across the day, alongside players from Brisbane Broncos, giving participants and spectators the chance to see world-class talent up close as the city builds towards the World Club Challenge.

Entry to the festival for community clubs is £50 per competing team, with all proceeds supporting the ongoing work of the Hull KR Foundation in developing rugby league and community programmes across the region.

The Hull KR Foundation Rugby League Festival: The World Club Challenge Edition promises to be a landmark event that brings together junior, disability and wheelchair rugby league, celebrating everything that makes the sport inclusive, community-driven and inspiring.
