The Hull KR Foundation is proud to launch our new Keep Them in the Game campaign – a fundraising initiative that aims to protect and enhance sport and physical activity opportunities for children in schools across Hull and the East Riding.
In recent years, we have worked alongside schools to inspire children to be active, healthy and confident. We currently partner with 24 schools, delivering more than 106 hours of sessions every week and supporting thousands of young people through high-quality physical activity programmes, specialist coaching and enrichment opportunities.
At the Hull KR Foundation, our work goes beyond delivering sport. Through our school partnerships, we use the power of Hull KR to inspire the next generation. From player visits and exclusive experiences to season tickets, we are able to provide opportunities that many children would not otherwise have. We help raise aspirations, build confidence and create memories that last a lifetime.
However, recent reductions to Government Sports Premium funding have placed this work under significant threat.
Without additional support, schools will face increasingly difficult decisions about how they enhance physical activity opportunities for their pupils. While PE will remain a part of the school curriculum, many schools may have to reduce access to the additional coaching, enrichment programmes, active learning sessions and wider sporting experiences that help children develop physically, mentally and socially.
Through our partnerships, we provide specialist coaching, positive role models, unique Hull KR experiences and opportunities that go beyond the core curriculum. These experiences are only possible because of the support we receive and, with funding under increasing pressure, they are becoming more difficult to sustain.
That's why we're asking our community to help Keep Them in the Game.
Every donation, fundraising event and act of support will help us continue delivering our specialist sessions and programmes in schools, ensuring children can stay active, improve their wellbeing and benefit from the unique opportunities that being part of the Hull KR Foundation provides.
This is just the beginning of our Keep Them in the Game campaign. We have an exciting programme of fundraising initiatives planned throughout the coming months, with details of our first major fundraising event set to be announced very soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more information on how you can get involved.
Together, we can ensure that children across Hull and the East Riding continue to enjoy the benefits of sport, physical activity and the life-changing opportunities that come with them, regardless of the challenges facing school funding.
Join us in keeping the next generation in the game.
