Hull KR Foundation Enhances Matchday Inclusion with New Sensory Room and Safe Space at Sewell Group Craven Park

The Hull KR Foundation are proud to announce the development of a brand-new sensory room at Sewell Group Craven Park, alongside the introduction of a dedicated ‘safe space’ in the East Stand, as part of a wider commitment to making matchdays more inclusive and accessible for all supporters.

The new sensory room, located in the West Stand and accessed via the Harry Poole Bar, will provide a calm and supportive environment for individuals who may benefit from a reduced-stimulation setting. With a maximum capacity of six people, the space has been carefully designed to ensure comfort while maintaining a connection to the live match experience.

Features in the sensory room include calming LED lighting, artificial turf flooring, stadium-style seating. Fully wheelchair accessible, the facility will be a fully inclusive space.

Paul Hamnett, Chief Executive of Hull KR Foundation, said:

"It is important that the matchday at Sewell Group Craven Park can be as inclusive as possible and look to provide opportunities for supporters to access matches. The aim is to make this the best experience in super league and challenge the game grow inclusivity."

Paul Lakin, Chief Executive of Hull KR, said:

"We are immensely proud to be an inclusive club, one that recognises the importance of creating a welcoming environment for every supporter, regardless of their needs. Inclusion isn’t an initiative for us—it’s a commitment, and today we’ve taken another meaningful step forward.”

In addition to the sensory room, Hull KR Foundation will also be opening up our Youth Centre for pre-match activities and introducing a new ‘safe space’ during the game within the East Stand. This flexible area will serve as a welcoming environment for young supporters before kick-off, providing a place for children to relax and engage in a safe and friendly setting. During the match, the space will transition into a warm area for supporters who may need a break from the outdoor conditions.
